Sanduk Coffee Table

Sanduku means "chest" in Swahili — and this coffee table carries the soul of a traveled treasure chest into your living room. Hand-built from solid mango wood, it features a hinged lift-top that reveals deep hidden storage for blankets, books, or board games.

Brass corner plates and a central medallion lock are recycled and hand-hammered by Egyptian metalworkers, giving each table a distinct, lived-in character. The low, generous proportions suit both floor-seating majlis arrangements and conventional sofas.

Styling Tip: Arrange a leather-bound book stack, a small brass tray with a candle, and a single dried palm frond across the top for an effortless boho-luxe look.

Care: Treat the wood surface with beeswax annually; tighten the lift-top hinges if they loosen with use over time.
